What About Skins / Layouts? What is a skin? Skinning a website is where the owner creates several different layout themes that the visitor can choose from. It allows the visitor more choice in their viewing experience.Does this mean that I create several different full versions (including content) of the same site? No, skinning is creating multiple templates for the site (skins, or "templates" are most common in web forums). Content is not duplicated. It can be done with different programming languages, but I use PHP and CSS. How do I use a skin? Click on the layout images below, and the site layout will automatically change. I draw a webcomic called Beth Comics, and I decided to use some of my characters for this layout. The redhead with the book is yours truly, the blonde is my alter-ego, and the hero is my husband. The cat is my own little Tiger, the cutest but most troublesome kitty I've ever met. The two characters that you won't recognize from my comics are Emmett (with the beaker) and Isabelle (with the beret), main characters from my first novel.
